| On September 1, we launched the Right to Live Campaign in Cape Town at Mater Domini – the 8th Mater Home, the first in Cape Town. Below please find the proceedings from this very special day. |

First Reading
A reading from St Paul’s letter to the Colossians (3:12-47) |

You are God’s Chosen race, his saints, he loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other as soon as quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven you, now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, to keep them together and complete them, put love. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together as parts of one body. Always be thankful.
Let the message of Christ, in all its richness find a home with you. Teach each other and advise each other in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and never say or do anything except in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John ( 4:23-27) |

If anyone loves me he will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we shall come to him
and make our home with him.
Those who do not love me do not keep my words.
And my word is not my own:
it is the word of the one who sent me.
I have said these things to you
while still with you;
but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything
and remind you of all I have said to you.
Peace I bequeath to you,
my own peace I give you,
a peace that the world cannot give, this is my gift to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. |

We pray with faith, confidence and hope in God the Father, since through his Son and the Holy Spirit we are his adopted children. Let us now ask for the grace and blessings needed to sustain Mater Domini Home:
Response: Send your Spirit among us
Let us pray for the needs of the church and especially the Right to Live Campaign everywhere that the Holy Spirit will inspire it’s members to be true disciples of Christ.
Father we pray…Response
We pray that all people will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to come to the aid if the born and the unborn here at Mater Domini Home and elsewhere
Father we pray…Response
We pray for all mothers, especially single mothers that the Holy Spirit will guide them to put their love for their babies first, and not the dictates of society.
Father we pray…Response
Let us pray for those who will staff and take charge of Mater Domini home, for doctors, nurses, welfare workers, volunteers, and all who are involved in the Right to Live, may the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them always.

We pray for all those who support abortion in word and action, that the Holy Spirit may open their eyes to the error of their ways.

We pray for all babies who have died through abortion, that they are enjoying the presence of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Now let us ask Mary our Heavenly Mother to join our prayer to hers as we say Hail Mary…

Let us Pray:
Blessed are you, O God our Father.
Through your Son you commanded your people,
who walk in newness of life,
to care compassionately for all who are in need.
Attend to the desires of your children.
By the grace of your Holy Spirit
may this place be a home of blessing
extending hospitality to those
who make use of what it has to offer
for their own comfort and well being, and
the preservation of their children.
Through the maternal care and intercession
Of Mary, Mother of our Lord,
May this home achieve its aim
In an atmosphere of Christian service and affection,
And give glory to you, our Father and Creator,
Through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord
