Mater Domini is the Latin for ‘Mother of The Lord’.

Centrally located, this 4 bed-roomed house with two separate bathrooms can accommodate up to eight women.

The house is situated close to a Midwife and Obstetrics facility, as well as being close to town, where skills training and development will be offered.

It is secure and situated in a quiet and easily accessible area.

Access to a Skills training programme

How it works

The home provides temporary accommodation to people who are in a crisis. It is not intended to be a permanent home for individuals but one that offers a loving caring sanctuary to those in need. We are there to support women through their crises, help them get back on their feet and become more self sufficient and better equipped for life and parenthood.

The home fosters an environment and community of love and support. The house rules that govern the home are designed to protect these values.

We do not judge people nor do we discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, age, marital status, or economic circumstances, and we strongly respect the confidentiality and privacy of all individuals

House Managers:

The home is run by two full time House Managers who oversee the daily running and ensure that all the needs of our residents are provided for, including spiritual, moral, physical and psychological.

Our two very dedicated House Managers are Gerda Shaw and Colette Thomas.
